Mount Eerie – Black Wooden Ceiling Opening

I recently picked picked up the new EP from Mount Eerie (formally The Microphones) and I quite like. It’s fantastic to turn up really loud, especially the bass, until I feel guilty that I am pissing my neighbours and turn it down. A little bit.
It’s loud and fuzzy lo-fi rock with some melody chucked in but it’s mostly great when the whole band lets loose a barrage of incredible energy with what sounds like all their instruments turned up to 11. The quiet moments are engaging as well and contrast well with the more extreme moments; sometimes they lull you into a false sense of ease. ‘Oh this song is nice and quiet, I like this melod-BAM BAM BAM!!- oh this is cool too. ‘ Check out their EP below, go out and buy it if you like it please.
