Flight of The Conchords – Flight of The Conchords (2008)

April 21, 2008

Flight of the Conchords; funniest band ever? I can’t think of any other brilliant comedic musical groups so I’m going to go with yes. Their new album consists entirely of songs (some extended) from their fantastic TV series although, they work extremely well without any visual gags.

Brett and Jemaine are obviously pretty musically talented but more importantly they are fucking funny. Their rap song is classic;

‘Other rappers diss me
Say my rhymes are sissy What, what, what, why, why, why? Be more constructive with your feedback …

My rhymes are so potent that in this small segment I made all the lady listeners pregnant Yeah that’s right, sometimes my lyrics are sexist But you lovely bitches know, should know I’m trying to correct this’

And the album is littered with amazingly great one liners as the band lament over everything from ‘Inner City Pressure’ (You know you’re not in high finance considering second hand underpants) to ‘Robots’ (Binary solo: 000000100000011 000000100000011) but while these jokes may sound a bit lame in writing they are hilarious on record. Download the album below or you can stream it for free on Myspace. Easily the best New Zealanders in the world (suck it Peter Jackson!).

    I heard ‘Robots’ on the radio today, it was great. I clicked on some ads for you too, don’t know how it all works, but hopefully it will make you another five bucks.

    Hi njvendetta

    I was hoping we could use your ‘scribing’ talent for our website.

    the best shows you’re not

    You blogged about Flight of the Conchords which is one of our featured “BSwatch” shows. We’re hoping to round up a few people who can occasionally contribute perspective (via an article/blog) on the shows – maybe a recent episode, future direction, plot shortcomings etc.

    What’s in it for you?

    Primarily a larger audience back channeled to your blog. We don’t pay but the site has a lot of promise and we’re pretty excited about getting it off the ground. Let me know what you think.
