Bushfire worries

February 8, 2009

It feels odd to write about about music when mother nature has decided to unleash Australia’s worst natural disaster onto the people of Victoria. I share the sentiments of the PM who said said not too long ago “Hell in all its fury has visited the good people of Victoria in the last 24 hours, and many good people now lie dead”.

To keep it somewhat relevant to this blog’s theme – it was heard at The Laneway Festival in Sydney over the weekend as well that apparently Gareth and Fiona from The Drones aren’t sure if their house in Myrtleford is still standing, along with studio and musical equipment no longer being there. This is all very sad to hear. In trying to not sound sappy – I hope the togetherness and community of Australians rebuild all the hurt that has happened.
