No More Postal Service?

February 23, 2009

So I’m not entirely sure how I didn’t pick this up earlier, but Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service recently did an interview with Rolling Stone, and says things like “there never really was a plan to do a second album”. Say what now?! I mean, they’ve always said it’ll take a long time, but it was a pretty certain thing… Right? Anyway, I guess we’ll see how it turns out. Read the full story at Rolling Stone or Pitchfork (the Pitchfork article is more entertaining to read, but the comments on Rolling Stone are pretty hilarious).

I’m of two minds about this.

Part of me desperately wants another Postal Service album and part of me likes the fact that they’re leaving it as a one off masterpeice.
