The Scare’s new single – ‘Could Be Bad’

July 7, 2009

As I have mentioned a fair bit lately, The Scare’s new album oozevoodoo is due for release on the 7th of August, and the guys have just released their second single from the album, ‘Could Be Bad’ which is up for listening on their MySpace. Also up on their MySpace is the above picture, of which I am assuming is the artwork for the new album, designed by the lovely Jack Ladder.

The new single doesn’t sound too bad, but after hearing it live several times, I know what it is capable of!

Here is a video is the boys performing the new single at the Corner Hotel show I reviewed a couple of weeks ago.

*EDIT* If I had waited 20 minutes or so, I would have been able to post this explaination from the boy’s MySpace with it!

Hello Again
We have uploaded a new track ‘Could Be Bad’ on our myspace page (
www.myspace.com/thescare).
This song is the opening song on “oozevoodoo” and will be the second single off this record.
Collectively, it is one of our favourite songs off the record and was written at our permenant rehearsal space in the arse end of Surry Hills. This rehearsal space was also occupied by INXS in the eighties and Billy Thorpe up until he passed a few years ago.
This song also features long time collaborator Holiday Sidewinder from Bridezilla on back-up vocals.
We recorded this song in 3 takes in early december at Mangrove Studios and the only over-dubs are percussion and vocals.
This song was also the corner stone for the strong percussive element of the album.
We are doing the video for “Could Be Bad” with our good friend Tom Noakes, it will be done in Sydney and watch this space for it in the next few weeks. The treatment looks great and involves guerilla projection.
To leave you all,
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has come out to the shows on the wolf + cub tour,
it has been a blast and we are really looking forward to going to perth this week!

Thanks and check back soon.

Anyway, I’m ‘cited, that’s all that matters.
