Alan+Wilkis+3

When listening to a track like “Time Machine” by New York’s Alan Wilkis you get a little weird feeling in the stomach. The anticipation of those odd beats, and rushing cymbals. and those chimes. The sounds feel if it’s from an 80’s movie that was dubbed onto VHS, but only highly produced to sound from none other than a gold plated 808. But then we get towards the end where Alan’s inhibitions of becoming that Purple One’s protoge to fruition

And that’s only one track from Alan’s Pink And Purple EP. This release is bursting out a plain ol’ bunch of fun funk for the day or night. Something that is always welcomed after a somewhat dreary winter’s day down here.
